Alf joined CPT in July 2011 following a career in tour operations with Kuoni UK Ltd and several specialist school tour companies in the south of England. Formerly a primary schoolteacher and latterly Headmaster of a large West Sussex school, in his capacity as a tour operator Alf also organised a series of Study Tours for CPT members to observe public transport systems in cities such as New York, Toronto, Montreal, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
Alf works within the Operations division of CPT, with particular responsibilities for liaison with the various tourism bodies such as The Tourism Alliance, Visit England and ABTA. He also provides administrative support for CoachMarque members and represents the brand at various trade and consumer shows.
Out of the office, Alf lives in West Sussex and is married with two teenage sons. Formerly a keen rugby player, Alf's sporting activities now are very much limited to spectating!
Chris took his PSV licence at just 18 years of age while studying for his A levels and then went off to college to study business and computing before returning to the family firm in 1986 as both a driver and engineer.. Taking every opportunity to develop his own skills and experience, eventually, and still at a relatively young age, Chris was elected by his peers to the Chair of theNorth WalesCoach Operators’ Association. Chris is currently Traffic Manager & Managing Director of Alpine Travel the largest Coach & Bus Operator in North West Wales; Chair of CPT’s UK Coach Commission; CPT’s Cymru Coach Commission and a senior and highly respected Committee or Board Member of CoachMarque UK; Cruise Wales; Go Skills/People First; Coleg Llandrillo Tourism Focus group and Destination Conwy, the local authority’s Tourism Board.
Chris is passionate about both his family business and his industry and prides himself in being instrumental in the development of one of Britain’s most flourishing and respected bus and coach operations, particularly focussed on providing a service at affordable price but with the highest levels of customer service and professionalism.
In his extremely limited free time(!), Chris is an active Freemason and member of theInstituteofDirectors and passionate about golf despite, by his own admission, being “completely hopeless!” Married for 25 years to Sally who also works within the ‘family firm’, Chris has two children, Nick (21) studying mechanical engineering atCardiffUniversity, and Ceri (18) studying Musical Theatre inSurrey.
Endaf Jones initially trained in Vehicle Bodywork & Refinishing in Soundwell College, Bristol and then time served in this trade in the companies’ own workshop in Login refinishing his own and other operators vehicles. During this time he also travelled extensively throughout the UK & Europe as a Coach Tour Driver, a part of the job he still enjoys on a couple of occasions a year. Endaf obtained his Managers CPC early in his career and slowly relinquished his workshop and driving duties to take up a more managerial role.
Jones Login joined Coach Marque in 1999 after a significant investment in fleet and company procedures and Endaf joined the Coach Marque Management Committee in 2005.
Ian joined the family coach business in 1985 shortly after leaving college. At the time the business had around 12 coaches and 2 HGV's. Working with his father, David and bother Steve, the business has expanded over the years and today comprises over 90 vehicles and employs over 200 staff. The business consists of four operating companies, H. Luckett & Co Ltd and Lucketts Travel Ltd in Fareham, Worthing Coaches Ltd in Worthing and recently added, Coliseum Coaches Ltd in Southampton. The group turnover is in the region of £13.5m. which is planned to increase to £14.5m in the next 12 months. This is derived from a variety of sources, all related to passenger travel, including private hire, school and commercial contract work, holiday and excursions and scheduled services operated on behalf of National Express.
Ian is joint Managing Director along with his brother Steve, and the business is operated on a day to day basis by the experienced team of managers and co-directors. David Luckett is the company Chairman and still plays an active part in the management of the business. Ian has been Chairman of the Guild of British Coach Operators and sits on the board of directors of the industry's main trade body, the Confederation of Passenger Transport.
Ian is married to Julie and they have three children, Hannah (15), Will (13) and Beth (10).
Michael Lightfoot founded Durham City Coaches in 1983. He has twice served as the Northern Region Chairman of the CPT, a position he still holds, and has sat on the CPT Engineering Committee for several years. He sits on the Coach Commission and the CoachMarque Comittee which DCH joined in 2007. Outside of work, Michael is a keen Sunderland supporter!
Adrian graduated from the University of Ulster in 1989 with an Honours Degree in Transport Technology and has put that to great use in the Transport field. He immediately joined Ulsterbus Ltd; Northern Ireland’s state owned public transport provider as a Trainee Manager. After progressing through various management posts in different areas of the company, he is now in charge of operations (drivers/coach fleet etc.) at Ulsterbus Tours; the coach touring holiday wing of the parent company. He has been on the CoachMarque Management Committee now for a number of years and currently writes the CoachMarque e-newsletter.
David Cattermole was initially trained in motor engineering, attending Ipswich Civic College whilst serving a apprenticeship at a local retail garage which operated minibuses and taxis. It was from there, where an interest in passenger transport developed into a career in the coach business. Joining Galloway in 1981, as Traffic Manager, David has fulfilled many roles within the Company before taking up the current position of Managing Director in 1997. Whilst the Company has grown significantly David still has a close interest in vehicle maintenance and is still often found at the helm of one of his coaches.
David has lead a commitment to quality and promotes heavily the Company’s accreditation to both CoachMarque and The Guild of British Coach Operators. His interest in the industry sees him actively involved with CPT and is Chairman of the Norfolk & Suffolk Group.
Outside work he’s a very competitive Bowls Player having clocked up over 100 games for Suffolk and is also a keen Ipswich Town supporter.
